Title: Andromeda’s Tree
Size: 900 × 600mm
Medium: Archival Pigment Ink on Premium Cotton Canvas
Description:
Andromeda’s Tree explores the relationship between cosmic curiosity and earthly responsibility. Using the Andromeda galaxy as a symbol of vastness, mystery and the search for meaning, the work asks whether humanity can truly reach for the stars without first learning how to sustain life on Earth. It reflects on the tension between exploration and preservation, and on the need to find balance between engineering ambition and the protection of the living systems that already support us.
The imagined tree in a neighbouring galaxy becomes a way of thinking about life beyond our world: the conditions it may require, the environment it may emerge from, and whether these would be familiar to us. Andromeda’s Tree is ultimately a meditation on existence, possibility and the responsibilities that come with knowledge.
